Youth Training of Trainers on “Strengthening Inclusion, Interfaith and Sustaining Peace” held in SUST, Sylhet

In the beautiful city of Sylhet, YCoalition International has launched Youth Training of Trainers workshop in association with Commonwealth Youth Peace Ambassadors Network (CYPAN) on ‘Strengthening Inclusion, Interfaith and Sustaining Peace.’ The workshop held from 27-28 July, 2017. YCoalition International is a Youth lead peace organization to striving together for sustainable peace. The workshop was launched in the green and serene campus of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and the organizing partner was SUST Model UN association (SUTSMUNA).

A successful two day workshop with 30 participants was led by an experienced trainer Md. Tamzid Hayder Tawrat Sikder . The whole program has covered social cohesion and peace building , facilitating intercultural and interfaith dialogues. The ideas from participants were innovative and inspirational.

The honorable advisor of BUFTMUNA Md. Arafat Hossain sir was present and participated in the program along with many senior faculties such as Dr. Md. Azizur Rahman Khan, Md. Monirul Islam sir and many other faculty members. They wrote inspirational words in the peace wall, which spread the message of how to establish peace in the world to the students. The students participated eagerly and shared their thought s about world peace and how to establish peace in the society. They filled the peace wall with inspirational ideas and thoughts which really signifies togetherness and mutual cooperation among the students. 

This training of trainers workshop has given young people the skills and confidence to be leaders and agents of change in their communities. For this reason, the workshop was designed very practically and getting each and every participant involved, so that on completion, participants has trained and ready to design and deliver outreach and education activities in their communities.

SUST Model UN Association were the organizing partner in this workshop . The president of SUST Model UN Association expressed his feelings, “SUST Model UN Association has always been an advocate of diversity and encouraged its members to see the world from as many of a point of views as possible. So when the chance came to help organize this workshop of YCoalition International we tried to give our best to make this workshop a success and by the response of the participants we can certainly say we have succeeded.”

The workshop’s mission was to connect, build capacity and provide support to the youth to promote peace in the society. Because the youth of this generation not only determines but their expertise is crucial to make their vision of a better tomorrow a reality.
