Youth Training on “Strengthening Inclusion, Interfaith and Sustaining Peace” held in Mymensingh Region, Bangladesh
In the beautiful city of Mymensingh, YCoalition International conducted its 5th Youth Training in association with the United Network of Young Peace-builders on “Strengthening Inclusion, Interfaith, and Sustaining Peace”. The workshop was held on February 24th and 25th, 2023.YCoalition is a youth-led peacebuilding organization striving together for sustainable peace. The workshop was launched on the green and serene campus of Govt. Shahid Smrity College, Muktagacha, Mymensingh.
It was a two-day training planned to equip students from diversified backgrounds and beliefs to work side by side and create a sustainable community and establish peace by understanding global citizenship, social cohesion, intercultural dialogue, interfaith dialogue, and inclusiveness. A successful two-day training with 40 participants was led by experienced trainers Md. Tamzid Hayder Tawrat Sikder and Foysal Hasan Tanvir.
This training has given young people the skills and confidence to be leaders and agents of change in their communities. For this reason, the workshop was designed very practically, getting each and every participant involved, so that on completion, participants would be trained and ready to design and deliver outreach and education activities in their communities.
“As a person, it can be hard to think about other people in our own community. This workshop really opened my eyes. It helped me understand the problems that people of different races in our community face. It has also given me the motivation to lead and be a force to get rid of injustice in our community” says a participant, sharing his experience of being part of this great workshop.
Professor Idris Ali, Principle of Govt. Shahid Smrity College, inaugurated the ceremony along with Co-Founder of Y Coalition International, Mr.Foysal Hasna Tanvir. The training mission was to connect, build capacity, and provide support to the youth to promote peace in the society. Because the youth of this generation not only determines but their expertise is crucial to making their vision of a better tomorrow a reality.
